The Story of Pork Barrel BBQ Restaurant – Del Ray

On August 31, 2009, Pork Barrel BBQ announced a partnership with “Mango” Mike Anderson and Bill Blackburn, two of DC’s top restauranteurs, to open the first Pork Barrel BBQ Restaurant in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia. The restaurant, which opened on November 29, 2011, is located in the heart of Del Ray at 2312 Mount Vernon Avenue.

Washington, DC and the Del Ray neighborhood has been waiting a long time for great BBQ, and we are excited to have the opportutnity to fill this void at the newly opened Pork Barrel BBQ Restaurant. Come try our national award winning pulled pork, ribs, brisket, chicken and exclusive Pork Barrel BBQ brisket sausage with sides like BBQ baked beans, cole slaw, potato salad, mac & cheese, Texas caviar, cucumber salad, smoked vegetable Rattatouille and corn salad!

We’ve packed away the tools and fired up the smoker and opened our doors for business!!
